Changing a letter's wording

The wording of each letter, the introduction, the reminders and so on, is set per type of work. You edit it in a simple editor, like a Word document. Some letters may be set up as placeholders that are waiting for you to add the wording.

  1. 1In the menu, click Letters, then Templates.
  2. 2Under Work-type Blocks, find the letter you want (for example the electrical introduction, or a reminder) and open it.
  3. 3Edit the text just like a document, using the toolbar for bold, headings and lists.
  4. 4For anything that changes from letter to letter, such as the resident's address or your organisation's name, click the matching merge field (for example property address, or client name) instead of typing it. That keeps every letter correct on its own.
  5. 5Click Save as new version.

If a letter shows placeholder text like "wording to be provided", it is waiting for you. Replace that text with your own and save.

Your logo and company details (the letterhead) are separate, see Setting up your letterhead. The wording sits inside it.

Saving creates a new draft. It goes live once approved, and only affects letters created after that, so you can edit freely without touching letters already sent.
