Big jobs and the background queue

Some things are too big to finish in an instant, like a large import or generating a big batch of letters. Tutaris runs these in the background so you can carry on working, and lets you watch their progress.

When you start something large, Tutaris queues it. You will see a message that it is queued, and you can safely leave the page, it keeps running on its own.

  1. 1To check on a queued task, in the menu on the left click Background Jobs.
  2. 2Each one shows whether it is queued, running or done, with a progress count for the big ones (for example how many rows of an import have been processed).
  3. 3When it finishes you get a notification, and the results appear where you started it (for an import, the new and updated counts).

Most actions are instant, only large imports and big letter batches go through the queue. There is nothing extra for you to do, it just means you do not have to sit and wait.
